Industrial worksites remain high-risk environments. In Spain alone, workplace accidents occur with alarming frequency, with a material share linked to poorly demarcated or inadequately secured risk zones. Beyond the human cost, these incidents create operational disruption, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk for operators.
SafeDelimit was created to address this challenge through a LiDAR-based system that detects unauthorized access to high-risk areas and triggers real-time alerts—shifting safety from reactive compliance to proactive prevention.
Emerging from the internal entrepreneurship program of Elewit by a driven kickstarter from within the corporate, the venture combined a strong societal mission with a technically validated solution already deployed in real operational settings.
Net Positive Labs was engaged during an assessment and acceleration phase to bring structured validation to the initiative — applying our methodology and experience to install a rigorous, data-driven process to determine how, and whether, the venture should scale as a standalone business.
While the underlying technology was proven, the venture faced a set of typical corporate-venture questions:
The objective was not to rebuild the venture, but to bring structure, pace, and evidence to support informed decision-making.
Net Positive Labs supported SafeDelimit as an embedded venture-building partner, focusing on clarity over theory and progress over documentation.
Key areas of work included:
Reframing the Commercial Logic
Working closely with the internal team, we explored how value was created, delivered, and captured. This included moving beyond one-off product sales to assess service-oriented and recurring structures better suited to long-term adoption and scalability.
Structuring a Coherent Venture Case
Building on existing traction, operational learnings, and early deployments, we worked closely with the team to further sharpen and align the venture case across key dimensions.
The focus was not to reinvent the initiative, but to bring greater clarity, coherence, and shared understanding around:
By articulating these elements in a structured and consistent way, the team gained a clearer narrative to communicate internally, assess trade-offs, and guide next-stage decisions.
The goal was alignment and acceleration — not perfection — creating a practical and credible reference point and hands on support, to guide informed investment and portfolio discussions.
Market Testing and Validation
To move beyond internal assumptions, we supported structured market testing, combining targeted outreach with qualitative and quantitative feedback. Early hypotheses were stress-tested against real-world responses to clarify where demand existed and where refinement was required.
Execution Support and Cadence
Beyond analysis, we supported the team in maintaining momentum through prioritisation, leadership sparring, and venture cadence compatible with corporate venturing environments.
Preparing Strategic Options Forward
Finally, we helped translate insights into clear, evidence-based options, including financial scenarios, positioning narratives, and materials to support internal portfolio-level decisions.
Through this work, SafeDelimit progressed from a technically validated solution to a venture-ready proposition with:
Rather than forcing premature growth, the process enabled informed choices about next steps, investment readiness, and strategic fit.
This case illustrates a common inflection point in corporate innovation: strong technology alone is not sufficient. Progress depends on translating complexity into clear choices, realistic pacing, and credible paths forward.
By bringing structure, discipline, and momentum to the assessment phase, we helped SafeDelimit—and its corporate stakeholders—move forward with clarity and confidence, while remaining anchored to a mission that materially improves safety in high-risk industrial environments.
